Talk about Kate's other movies, like Cold Comfort Farm, Brokedown Palace, Laurel Canyon, The Last Days Of Disco or Much Ado About Nothing.

Its an amazing film, I got mine from Play.com (Pal version)
The script (based on the novel obviously) is brilliant, its SO funny! I had no idea it would be, though not everyone would understand the eccentricities of old England least of all find it in any way funny, but im weird and find the strange nature of upper class society hilarious.
The character Kate plays is a rather clueless young woman, but she firmly believes she has only good intentions, these good intention revolve around match making people and eventually getting them to marry each other, it all back fires on Emma and forces her to grow up and smell the trouble she is causing for her friends around her, most of all her friend Mr Knightly who is her best friend and who is secretly in love with Emma. If you haven’t yet seen the movie then I wont write anymore about it in fear of ruining the plot. This film is MUST BUY for any Kate fan.

Meridian-ITV/A&E: television movie 1996
(107 min)
Directed by: Diarmuid Lawrence
Screenplay by: Andrew Davies
Produced by: Sue Birtwistle

Cast:
Kate Beckinsale as Emma Woodhouse
Olivia Williams as Jane Fairfax

I give it an 8 out of 10. It's a period film based on a Jane Austen classic. I couldn't stand the version with Paltrow, but Beckinsale not only makes it watchable, but also worth owning.

It was on TV recently. It was pretty good. I am used to the Gwyneth Paltrow version so I was worried I wouldn't like this one but I did.

I didn't care too much for the man that played Mr. Knightley but otherwise I think everyone's performance was wonderful, influding Kates.

She was dressed rather plain (which is typical for the time) and yet she is still so beautiful.

I preferred it to the Paltrow version sightly. It's one of Kate's better movies.
