*SPOILER*
I just got home from seeing it. First off let me talk about Kate. When I first saw Kate on screen I thought that she looked as gorgeous and sexy as ever

.
(manditory pause so I can dream about her.................,OK
) I had read before seeing it that at the beginning of the film her character wasn't very likeable and that's how I felt about her. She's beautiful but she isn't a very good person. I didn't like Luke Wilson's character much either. Both of them argue so much and let their emotions affect each other. But once I found out more about them and saw that they still had feelings for each other and could stick together, I saw that they were good people. I then liked them. Whether you like them at the beginning or not I think most people will side with them and be more compassionate when the bad things begin to happen. I felt Kate did a great job playing her role and was great at being terrified and exhausted. It really gets to me when something bad or sad is happening to her in any of her films so this was getting to me. It's a good experience sharing the same emotions as her. I was getting nervous when she was close to being captured in several scenes like the one where she is hiding in the attic as the men are trying to kill her husband. I almost had to look away when Mason gets ahold of her and begins to beat her. I didn't know how violent it would be. I didn't know if I could see Kate like that

. At that point I thought Luke was dead and she was next. I was happy though when Kate toughens up and takes it to the murderers with the car and eventually the pistol. She changes from someone who is weak and relies on her husband's protection into a much stronger woman who is able to save her husband. Also, even though she spends most of the film dirty, sweaty, and exhausted, she still looks stunning in those scenes.
This film had a real fright value to it especially when I consider that something like this could be very real and could happen to people. It was great on the big screen and with loud volume. I admire Luke Wilson's acting job. He's known for his comedy and, like Kate, had never done a film like this one. Frank Whaley also played a very good badguy-creep. I enjoy this kind of film and this is one of the best I've seen. I need to go see it a few more times.
