*SPOILER*

I just got home from seeing it. First off let me talk about Kate. When I first saw Kate on screen I thought that she looked as gorgeous and sexy as ever Image. (manditory pause so I can dream about her.................,OK  ) I had read before seeing it that at the beginning of the film her character wasn't very likeable and that's how I felt about her. She's beautiful but she isn't a very good person. I didn't like Luke Wilson's character much either. Both of them argue so much and let their emotions affect each other. But once I found out more about them and saw that they still had feelings for each other and could stick together, I saw that they were good people. I then liked them. Whether you like them at the beginning or not I think most people will side with them and be more compassionate when the bad things begin to happen. I felt Kate did a great job playing her role and was great at being terrified and exhausted. It really gets to me when something bad or sad is happening to her in any of her films so this was getting to me. It's a good experience sharing the same emotions as her. I was getting nervous when she was close to being captured in several scenes like the one where she is hiding in the attic as the men are trying to kill her husband. I almost had to look away when Mason gets ahold of her and begins to beat her. I didn't know how violent it would be. I didn't know if I could see Kate like that  . At that point I thought Luke was dead and she was next. I was happy though when Kate toughens up and takes it to the murderers with the car and eventually the pistol. She changes from someone who is weak and relies on her husband's protection into a much stronger woman who is able to save her husband. Also, even though she spends most of the film dirty, sweaty, and exhausted, she still looks stunning in those scenes.

This film had a real fright value to it especially when I consider that something like this could be very real and could happen to people. It was great on the big screen and with loud volume. I admire Luke Wilson's acting job. He's known for his comedy and, like Kate, had never done a film like this one. Frank Whaley also played a very good badguy-creep. I enjoy this kind of film and this is one of the best I've seen. I need to go see it a few more times.

I must say.. the ending wasn't the greatest... when I left you can hear everyone just saying... so are they going to screw in the hospital now.... umm what i can say about this movie besides giving things away is...
start- very slow
middle- good
end- horrible and boring

overall... i like going to movies with her in it.. but... really.. i wonder why sarah jessica parker dropped out now....

Without Kate this would have been a completely average movie. With her it's a little above average. I was pretty happy with the movie until the end, but the end is a big wtf moment. I got the impression that no one could decide how to end the movie, so they just let the credits roll. Luke Wilson was miscast, he should really stick to light comedy. Kate is good, but has little to work with. Basically the movie takes a while to get going and then is enjoyable until the end. Some people might lie the way it ended, but a lot of people will feel a little cheated. I'd give it a 6/10 but it could have been a 7/10 if the writer and director had been able to decide on a real ending.

Spoiler alert!!!

i finally get to see it after work tonight, there were only 7 people in the theater. it is a very odd movie in many ways. first, kb and luke wilson just don't look like a couple. second, the story makes half sense, where did the bad guys dump the dead bodies? it is in california after all. third, these bad guys aren't superhuman or mutants, you can take them one on one using toilet seat, broken glasses or the tv set as weapons. fourth, the cop got killed and no back up show up. fifth, the ending is abrupt; all the bad guys were dead (kb drove the car into the motel kill two of them, then kb shot the other one), so i guess it doesn't really matter. beside all these, i have to give kb a lot of credit to make this film, her performance is very convincing as a scare, yet caring wife. also there are many close up shots of her beautiful face in the beginning of the movie. i don't mind her using bad language in the film, it is just normal after all. go see it to support kb!

i saw the movie two days ago with my friend, and we loved it (and let me tell you, my friend is quite the movie critic). It really is about the relationship between David and Amy. The dialogue in the beginning of the film is so funny, especially the exchanges between the two. I love how the audience does not like Kate's character at first, but at the end you really are rooting for her (my favorite scene by far is when kate punches the sick bastard and says "FUCK YOU!"). Luke Wilson's character was so likeable, fighting till the end for Amy. And when Amy finally apologizes for something (more like "everything"), just really shows the intense state that they were in. David is the one that makes Amy stable, really showing their need for each other. And the little kisses they exchanged weren't cheesy to me at all. I also felt the ending was quite clear, i'm they survive, and stay together (and David being stabbed once and surviving is realistic, heck the guy in zodiac was stabbed like 20x and survived--it being a true story after all). like a Hitchcock film, it kept you tense (in constant suspense!). i really enjoyed it, heck, i even liked how the beginning and end credits were done. :]

I finally saw the movie during my stay in the USA :-D So...Kate's original voice AND experiencing an American theatre *lol* Anyway...I liked the movie... It was no movie to win an Oscar but it was not bad either. I had a good time watchin Kate on the big screen...and was glad to not have to stay at a hotel afterwards

The only thing I did not really like about "Vacancy" was the end. It was a bit too sudden for my taste... :?

I saw this movie. It's very interesting. Kate has played very well.I saw Vacansy on DVD( thanks for pirates, Vacansy wasn't show in Russia, but pirates did DVD copy with, lol, subtitles on Spanish).I'm very glad that I could see it. It's very difficult to see films which are showed only in America. It's a very nice movie.

I love Kate!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT MEANS "SPOILER"......

I saw Vacancy yesterday.... i don't like the guy with glasses
the music is bizarre..... this movie is better than Tip toes....
i would like to see Kate in diiferent characters.... Why producer doesn't
give her serious movie with a chance to win an oscar....
i know that Kate can make it better than wife..... in Vacancy!!!
Luke Wilson is a good actor.... and the story is classical
we saw it often in different trillers...in 90'... at the time i was a fan of this kind of movie
but now not.
