Why release it at the end of the summer movie season, and why release it the same weekend against another successful franchise film The Bourne Legacy? It's also releasing in the middle of the Olympics. I wonder what kind of impact this will have on the films box office.
Bourne Legacy lost its star, Matt Damon, and replaced him with Jeremy Renner. Bwahahahaha. If I were Damon I'd be insulted!
Also, BL is right now in Vancouver doing what I can only surmise are re-shoots approximately 6 weeks before the release date. That doesn't sound good. I wouldn't be surprised if BL moves off the aug. 3 date and uses the re-shoots as excuse to move the release date back a week or two. June 14 - 16 Bourne Legacy is filming in Vancouver.
http://www.onlocationvacations.com/2012 ... more-35242As for the Olympics, well, by the time TR premieres the Olympics, if you're into that, will have been in full swing for 8 days. To me, I don't see how it would make a bit of difference. The Olympics might affect the UK B.O. but I don't think it will make a lick of difference anywhere else. People can always record the double diving or whatever.
If TR is good it'll be successful it not it won't. I don't think the Olympics or the still filming, without it's original star, Bourne Legacy, will make or break it.
