I agree- great movie, great cast. Kate looks so young and innocent, I often have to do a double-take just to make sure it's still her.

Yep, same here. I found it quite an enjoyable movie with a funny plot. I loved to experience the old english, lol. Kate did well in it, though as it happens with all movies with a major cast, she had an important, yet minor role. If you consider it, there wasn't much acting action for her character.

I guess I'm going to have the be the bad guy here, I remember saying before I hated Shakespeare, partly because you can't understand a thing they are saying. Well a few of you told me to give this movie a shot so I have, I have just started watching it and I just can't stand the language it seriously ruins it for me, it's like trying to decode something, it takes away from the movie for me cause I'm trying to figure out what in the world they are saying. But I will watch the rest of it and see if my opinon changes.

Well all the fun lies in the jests and what they are saying. Try harder, it's fun when you understand it. I saw it like a challenge and watched the scenes i didn't get at first ... again and again until I understood what had just been said. Love it now. =). Way more rapphinate english than this. Sounds a lot more beautiful and interesting to me.

I'm going to have to agree with you there. I Saw most of it and shut it off, couldn't finish it. I guess I'll stick with the non-Shakespeare movies.

I saw it a long time ago, as I recall Kate was only in it briefly. I don't like movies with Shakespearean dialogue. I enjoyed Shakespeare in Love though.

She has a lot of screentime, but very few sentences to speak. That's at least what I remember. But I just discovered that a friend of mine owns the DVD, so I rented it from her and I'll cap the movie laters. Yay! :D

That's cool, now I can refresh my memory of the way she looked in that film without listening to old English!!!!!!!!

A very pleasant story, with great actors, I' m sure they enjoyed doing it,
everybody sing, dance, laugh, play whith words.. The cast is big for a TV version,
Keanu Reeves, Denzel Washington, Emma Thompson and more,
so Kate is not the center of the story, but she's cute as England's grasslands! ;-)

This is one of my favourite movies. :) I was mesmerized by Kate in the very first moment I saw her as Hero. :smt055 I remember, it was aired by HBO in 1994, and I watched it over and over again. Excellent cast, excellent acting performances and a classical masterpiece; who could ask for more? :)

The cast is great and I'm sure the acting is too, but the story just doesn't do it for me. I tried to watch it a few years back and had to stop in the middle because I was so bored!
