Technically, an indie is any movie made outside of the studio system. There are different levels of indie movies. At the top of the indie ladder are movies made by respected production companies like Focus Features. These are larger budget indie movies (still low budget by studio standards) that usually have distribution locked in before being made. Then you have what I call film festival indies, high quality but very low budget movies that typically look for distribution at film festivals. Lower on the ladder are low budget, low quality movies that are meant to be released straight to DVD, such as low budget horror movies.

One more UW should be enough to finish the series. I hope they end UW when Kate no longer wants to be a part of it. It would be unfortunate if Lakeshore decides to keep it going by releasing straight to DVD, the way some movie series, such as Hellraiser, have done.

Looks like it's about tapped out domestically, but still doing well internationally. It's probably already out of most U.S. theaters. Still, that's almost 40 million more than any other Underworld film, and will surpass 160 million.

It looks like it's almost out of gas worldwide, but crossing $160 million is a big deal. Awakening has demonstrated that the UW series is financially viable, provided that the production budget is kept under control.

I must say, the film is the highest grossing Underworld ever, by almost 40 million dollars. That is very impressive, and something I didn't think would happen.

It has hit the dollar movie circuit in the US, so it will make another few hundred thousand here.

I'm glad that the movie is doing well. I thought it was the best 'Underworld' sequel thus far. Also, one of the few times that I've bothered with a 3D showing. 8)

Finally...I watched it! I was waiting for HD. Honestly...I expected a little bit more ;) It is very short movie and the actions are quickly. The scenes with fight are good made and Kate is brilliant, as always! Many ppl don't like the 4-th movie, don't know why, but that's my favourite series of movies. And there is no need to say who is my favourite actress :D The whole story - vampires and lycans...Underworld movies are best ever. :smt006

I heard about it. There are rumours that it's name will be the "Underworld-Battle". Could be good for the last movie. I hope Len will be in it. Of course, Scott and Kate too <3
